Qantas RUNWAY OVERRUN!

Qantas has experienced a runway overrun at Newman Airport. It is believed to have been caused by the cyclone, as apparently the aircraft was at 400ft when above the threshold, touched down half way through the runway and didn’t apply reverse thrust, opting for the incorrect, manual breaking.

Glad there are no fatalities (and the aircraft looks undamaged).

There looks to be minimal damage to the aircraft, due to the hard surface surrounding the runway

Good to know everybody is safe but i have some advice for the pilots:

Maybe replace the RETARD call with this song and maybe the IP Dev can add it for everytime somebody crashes.

And now thats stuck in my head.

This really isn’t a good start to the year for aviation. I think there have been a few other incidents as well, and from what I’ve noted, after a major incident then more follow it.

That’s very true almost as if they are connected in some way, once other aircraft have an issue then more happen. It’s either a coincidence or a really strange thing that is happening.
